One of the most famous quotes in movie history is the one from Forrest Gump when Forrest said, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” This is definitely true. Sometimes, the most unexpected things can come knocking on your front door. Upon opening that door, you’ll be treated to the best surprise of your life.
Well, ours came in the form of an email last November 12, 2014. We can never forget this day, and we have recently starred it in our Gmail account.
It was an invitation from the Best Cebu Blog Awards (BCBA) committee, the first and sole award-giving organizer that recognizes the presence, efforts, and importance of Cebu-based bloggers and their respective blogs.
Upon opening and reading our email, our jaws dropped and we squealed wildly with excitement. It turned out that we were selected as one of the nominees for the 2014 Best Cebu Travel Blog award!
That is just awesome beyond belief! It was an extremely unexpected surprise (notice the redundancy) of our lives considering that we have only been blogging for barely two years!
Thus, on December 7, 2014, Sunday, we will heading off to attend the 7th Annual Best Cebu Blog Awards Night at the Avalon Building, Cebu Business Park. This is our very first time to attend and actually be a part of such prestigious event, and we’re excited and nervous at the same time.
It is a great honor to be given such recognition in Cebu’s blogosphere. We are definitely grateful to the people behind the BCBA and the sponsors who continuously give their undying support and acknowledgment to bloggers.

Thank you very much for the compliment. To tell you honestly, I just write freely (Sheila does the editing) and truly, and I don’t actually embellish my writing. In fact, I often think that my writing style is too simple to be of merit.
For our photos, we just use simple but top-quality click-and-shoot cameras to take our photos. DSLRs are too complex for us to use (we’re not really techie) and too heavy and bulky to bring up the mountains. My bro, who is a professional photographer, just provides us basic advice on how to take good photos using the cameras we have.
No, there’s no voting scheme for the BCBA award. They have a committee to do the judging.
