One of the nicest things about traveling is that when you least expect it, there’s always a silver lining that shines through the clouds. That has happened to us before in Roxas City where we were stranded prior to our epic Mt. Guiting-guiting climb. During this pre-summer trip, it happened again, albeit in a different way! What followed a disappointing Cuatro Islas island hopping tour was an amazingly fun overnight stay in Digyo Island thanks to a great company of friends.
The Philippines is an archipelago of more than 7,000 unique islands. More than 7,000 cool adventures! Trekking, snorkeling, scuba diving, free diving—you name it, and each island is most likely to have one of these activities. That’s why we always look forward to every island hopping adventure in our list. Alas, that excitement didn’t happen in our latest sojourn in Cuatro Islas in Inopacan, Leyte, Philippines.
One of the nicest things about living in tropical island like Mactan in Cebu, Philippines is that we are surrounded by gorgeous coral reefs. Most of our vibrant underwater playgrounds are just less than an hour’s ride from our home. In this blue, liquid world, we witness strange biological wonders, learn more about marine biodiversity, and enhance our advocacies to preserve Mother Nature. We were able to check out another of these wonderful sites called Dakit-dakit one beautiful sunny weekend.

That’s because we have discontinued our third-party hosting on Photobucket due to their drastic increase in rate, which we cannot afford.
Fortunately, we were able to find another third-party host. We are in the process of transferring all our almost-8,000 photos to Flickr. Thus, just be patient as we transfer the images to Flickr and embed them to Adrenaline Romance. Photos of all our 2012, 2016, 2017, and 2018 blog articles are already embedded and should show normally.

The Reef World Foundation proclaims 2018 as the International Year of the Reef. And that couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time. Today, our coral reefs—the precious rainforests of the oceans—need our help. Years of negligence, over harvesting of marine resources, global warming—all these factors have seriously impacted our reefs. We need to take action to save this delicate ecosystem.
In general, natural places where modernity and humanity have encroached experience some sort of change. Most exhibit a degree of damage while some are even downright devastated. So it’s a really a joyful feeling when we encounter beautifully preserved natural areas right in the heart of a bustling province. The Talima Marine Sanctuary right at the fringe of a busy shipping lane in Mactan, Cebu, Philippines is a clear proof that man and nature can harmoniously coexist.
